By looking at the representation strategies in some works by Giulia Niccolai and Patrizia Vicinelli, two of themost representative female authors in the context of XX century Italian experimental literature, this article aims to provide a specific interpretation of the estrangement effect produced by the encounter between word, image and the scopic function of both the human eye and optical machines.
